Jaipur has hundreds of agencies and freelancers who build websites, and most of their own sites look good. That makes choosing hard. This guide gives you a practical way to compare them, so you pick a team that builds a website that loads fast, shows up on Google and brings enquiries, not just one that looks nice on launch day.

If you're comparing prices, read our website development cost guide for Jaipur alongside this one.

Quick answer

To choose a web development company in Jaipur:

  1. Check 3 live websites they built, not screenshots.
  2. Test those websites on your phone and on PageSpeed Insights.
  3. Ask what technology they use and why it fits your business.
  4. Get the scope, timeline, price and support terms in writing.
  5. Make sure your domain, hosting and logins are in your name.

The rest of this guide explains each step.

1. Look at live websites, not a portfolio page

Screenshots and mockups can be made for any project. Ask for links to 3 websites the company built that are live today, ideally for businesses like yours.

When you open them, check:

  • Do they load quickly on your phone? Most of your visitors will use a phone.
  • Is it clear what the business does within a few seconds?
  • Can you easily call, WhatsApp or send an enquiry from every page?
  • Do the forms work? Send a test message if you can.

If a company can't share live work, or every example is a template demo, treat that as a warning.

2. Test speed and SEO basics yourself

You don't need technical knowledge for this. Paste one of their client websites into PageSpeed Insights and look at the Mobile score. A score in the green or upper orange range is a good sign. A low red score on most of their work usually means heavy themes and plugins.

Then search Google for the business name of one of their clients. The website should appear with a proper title and description, not "Home" or a default theme name. These basics take little effort to get right, so if they are missing, more important things are probably missing too.

3. Ask which technology they use, and why

There's no single right answer, but a good company can explain its choice in plain words:

  • WordPress suits simple sites where you want to edit everything yourself, but it can get slow and needs regular plugin updates.
  • Next.js and React suit businesses that care about speed, SEO and custom features such as listings, dashboards or booking flows.
  • Shopify suits online stores that want a hosted platform.

We compare the two most common options in detail in Next.js vs WordPress for a business website. Be careful with any company that uses the same template for every client regardless of what the business needs.

4. Check what's included in the price

Two quotes for "a 6-page website" can mean very different things. Before you compare prices, check whether each quote includes:

  • Custom design or a ready-made template
  • Writing or editing the page content
  • On-page SEO: page titles, descriptions, headings, sitemap and Google Search Console setup
  • Mobile testing on real phones
  • Contact forms, WhatsApp and call buttons
  • Google Analytics and ad tracking
  • Support after launch, and for how long

A cheaper quote that leaves out SEO setup or support often costs more later.

5. Get everything in writing

A short written scope protects both sides. It should list:

  • The pages and features being built
  • The timeline, with dates for design approval and launch
  • The total price and payment schedule
  • How many rounds of changes are included
  • What support you get after launch and what it costs after that

If a company is unwilling to write this down, expect arguments later.

6. Keep ownership of your domain and accounts

This is the most common problem small businesses face when they change developers. Make sure:

  • Your domain is registered in your name or your company's name.
  • You have the login for your hosting, or at least know where it is hosted and who pays for it.
  • You are an owner on Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Business Profile, not just a viewer.

Ask about this before work starts. A trustworthy company will be happy to set it up this way.

7. Ask what happens after launch

A website needs small updates, fixes and security care. Ask:

  • How long is support included, and what does it cover?
  • How quickly do they respond to a problem?
  • Can they help with SEO, Google Business Profile or ads later, or will you need another agency?

If you want customers from Google Maps as well as Google Search, read our Google Business Profile checklist.

Red flags to watch for

  • Guaranteed "rank 1 on Google" promises. No one can guarantee rankings.
  • No live examples, or only template demos.
  • A price with no written scope.
  • The domain registered in the developer's name.
  • No clear answer about support after launch.
  • Pressure to pay the full amount upfront.

Questions to ask in your first call

  1. Can you share 3 live websites you built for businesses like mine?
  2. Which technology would you use for my site, and why?
  3. What exactly is included in your price?
  4. How long will it take, and what do you need from me?
  5. Who will own the domain, hosting and Google accounts?
  6. What support do I get after launch?
